Cincy Recap and LA Cinema Festival

Eric and I had a great trip to Cincinnati... watched some good films at the festival, ate some delicious food, met some cool folks, and I showed him a lot of the locations I have in mind for my first feature as we continue working on the script. The actual 'Butterfly Dust' screening went very well (even though there was another minor technical problem), and we had a fantastic Q&A afterward! Thanks to all who

Cincy Schedule

It took them a little longer to release the schedule than we had all hoped, but we finally found out earlier today when 'Butterfly Dust' screens at the Cincinnati Film Festival! They're doing something new and exciting this year... creating a block of short genre films that should be a ton of fun. And we're a part of it! They're calling it the "Midnight Special" Block, and it will begin at 10:30pm on Friday, September

AOF Screening Success!

Wow, what a whirlwind of a week it's been! I'm happy to report that -- aside from an audio problem in the theatre in which we screened -- our screening on Monday night was a success! Our hustling all weekend to promote the film and get the word out about the date and time resulted in a really good turnout... one of the best turnouts in a shorts block that we saw. And we received

AOF Award Nomination!

We have received word that 'Butterfly Dust' has received its first festival award nomination! AOF has nominated the film for Best Makeup! Sounds to me like the gruesome bite kept some poor festival programmer up nights. Oh well... their loss (of sleep) is our gain. Many, many congrats to Jen Giragos, our lovely Makeup Artist!   While we're talking about AOF, I'd just like to remind everyone that our first festival screening is THIS COMING

Heading to the Queen City!

Great news this morning! 'Butterfly Dust' is an Official Selection of the Cincinnati Film Festival! This is especially meaningful as I get to share it with family and friends... and get to take a few-day trip home to see a bunch of people.   The festival runs September 18-21, so I hope to see you Cincy folks that weekend.   I don't currently know the exact date or time of our screening, but as soon

AOF Screening Info

We now have the details for our first festival screening at Action On Film (AOF) International Film Festival, and I wanted to pass the info along so you can (hopefully!) make plans to come and check it out!  We'll be part of AOF's Monday Movie Shorts Block on Monday, August 25 at 6:00pm at the Krikorian Theatre in Monrovia, CA, located at 410 S. Myrtle Ave. (91016). Tickets are $10 for the entire Shorts Block

AOF Official Selection

We recently received word that Butterfly Dust has been accepted into the Action On Film (AOF) International Film Festival! This is especially meaningful to the film's writer, Eric Jones, and myself, as it was just two short years ago that he and I met at AOF when my thesis film, Found, screened there. He had a short script in the festival entitled More Than Skin Deep, which won the AOF 2012 award for Best Dialogue

Mothers and Music and Fests, oh my!

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mothers and grandmothers out there! For so many of us pursuing our dreams, there is a mother standing behind us in support and as inspiration. I would like to offer our heartfelt 'thank you' to every mother behind the scenes, as well as my own mom... for being instrumental in molding me into the person and filmmaker I am today.   Things have gotten a little crazy out
